THE KEVLA

KEV'S STORY

Kev wrote me a few words ...

Hi my name is Kevin Webber, I was diagnosed with incurable advanced prostate cancer in November 2014 and given as little as 2 years to live.

Since then I have been through mental torment, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a never ending daily drugs routine however this has not stopped me running many marathons and Ultramarathons including The Marathon Des Sables. I will continue to run until I physically cant as this helps me raise funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.

I met Nick in my tent (Tent 105) at the Marathon Des Sables in 2016 and was instantly impressed with his drive and determination to do the best he could, setting himself high goals for performance both in that race and in a life of experiences he wants to achieve in the future. His attitude is something I only gained on diagnosis and I am grateful for what he has done for me both in inspiration and raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK.

1,000 men a month die from prostate cancer in the UK alone, it’s the biggest male cancer so it needs to be tamed as since my diagnosis over 26,000 men have died in the UK from this disease with seven times as many men taking it with them to the grave.
